Re-Roofing with Reclaimed Materials
Re-roofing with reclaimed materials is an excellent way of adding individual character to a re-roofing project. We can use existing slates and tiles where possible, supplementing them where needed by sourcing through our excellent network of building industry and architectural reclamation contacts.
Where existing materials are beyond reuse, we can also source reclaimed materials in suitable quantities for whole re-roofing projects. This offers advantages, particularly when working on listed buildings or in conservation areas.
We are highly skilled in sourcing and re-roofing with natural Welsh slate, which is renowned for its many qualities and used throughout the UK. We also work with Westmoreland slate, Brazilian slate and Chinese slate, as well as stone tiles.
Re-roofing with Concrete or Clay Plain Tiles
Traditional 10 inch x 6 inch concrete or clay plain tiles create a finish that combines tradition with integrity against the elements. Greenridge Roofing Services works extensively with clay tiles and the more economical concrete versions.
Re-Roofing with Larger Concrete Tiles
Larger concrete and composite tiles provide more cost-effective option in the many situations where natural materials are not viable for re-roofing. These types of tiles are popular on many homes and commercial buildings, where they provide cost savings in material terms, and labour – because there are fewer tiles per square metre depending upon the make and style used. For example some styles reduce the number of tiles per square metre from 60 down to 10.
